Fast Grinding

The 250W motor runs at approximately 1,400 RPM, with an 18g espresso dose taking around 14 seconds according to the published specification.

That gives you plenty of speed for normal home espresso use without needing to run a large commercial grinder.

Aura Bean Tip

If you’re using the DF64 primarily for espresso, don’t chase a particular number on the grind dial.

The numbers are only a reference.

Start with your dose and target yield, then adjust the grind according to the shot. If the coffee is flowing too quickly, go finer. If the shot is choking or running excessively slowly, go coarser.

Once you find the setting that works, record it alongside the coffee, roast date and recipe.

That gives you a repeatable starting point the next time you use the same coffee.

The Aura Bean Difference

We don’t recommend grinders simply because they have a large burr or a long specification sheet.
